View at dawn

View from our appartment, overlooking the backyard which is very modern except from that small clutter of french looking buildings in the corner. Wonder who put the light on.

It all seemed like a dream

Paris is grey in the daytime but incredibly clear at night. This picture turned out grey and dreamy even though I thought I pressed the trigger at excactly the right moment to get a clear picture. It made me think of how people often are not what they seem like at first glance, and how some people slip through your fingers just because you didn`t jump at the chance to make contact after that very first glance and you will never know who you missed out on and what they would have brought to your life.

Deux verres de vin blanc et un macaron gros

Hilde suprised me with a big lemon macaroon when she met up with me at our new favourite hangout Aux Folies. The white wine and macaroon was a tasty combination, especially enjoyed in the sunset.

Sacrè Coeur

Going to Sacrè Coeur on a sunday with a hungover probably isn`t the cleverest thing to do, considering we live here and could have chosen a less crowded day. But we got a seat on a bench, overlooking grey Paris and as we were seated there, the sun came out. It stayed for a mere five minutes, tops, but that and the delicious mint tea they serve in Paris cleared my head.

Canal Saint-Martin

I have become very fond of Canal Saint-Martin and the area around - the stretch of cafés, bars and shops situated along the canal and the many quaint little side streets.  The canal is comforting to me, I love sitting in a café, writing and gazing out on the water – it`s the second best thing to being near the sea.

Happy international women`s day to all women!

We celebrated our own sex by treating ourselves to macaroons at Ladurèe and a cheese platter and a Kir Royal at a fancy Brasserie and felt very privileged and humble that we have the finances and freedom to celebrate such a day.
