For Hilde...

Hilde loves stripes but have never found the perfect striped sweater, gets giddily excited about macaroons and adores her box from Ladurèe, finds it difficult to be serious in photographs, is a talented photographer, enjoys orientating the map even though she often mistakes the direction, attracts a wide range of men, expensive nail polish addict, expert on mixing kir royale, has an infectious laugh, gets a bit emotional when she sees Renoir, is terrible at frying bacon, shares my love for guilty pleasure music, has a hidden talent as a relationship advisor, amuses me with her witty comments and is the coolest red head I know.

A love declaration to the Eiffel Tower

During my stay in Paris my heart have always skipped everytime I saw the Eiffel Tower. It made me so happy, even seeing just the top of it; it`s so french, very Paris and a beautiful piece of architecture.

Diseye Tantua

One of the many wonderful people we have met in Paris Diseye Tantua will be remembered especially fondly, not only because of his enthusiasm for life but he is also an incredibly talented artist. We went to see his exhibition at Galerie Teodora and if you are in Paris you should stop by to view this up and coming artist from Nigeria and widen your artistic horizon.

Chez Janou

Tonight we ate a fantastic Provençal dinner at bistro Chez Janou. The wine was sweet, the food was a feist, the ambience was buzzling and french, a lovely way to spend our last monday night. Thank you to Hilde`s mum for treating us!

Vintage postcards

I bought a bunch of unused vintage postcards at the market on Saturday. I love the elegance of this man combined with the quirky pastel flowers that he is holding up and offering to you. It`s quite comical but I`m sure the original intension was made in the greatest seriousness.

Canal Saint-Martin

I have become very fond of Canal Saint-Martin and the area around - the stretch of cafés, bars and shops situated along the canal and the many quaint little side streets.  The canal is comforting to me, I love sitting in a café, writing and gazing out on the water – it`s the second best thing to being near the sea.

Shakespeare and Company

My favorite book shop. We skipped dinner and spent the night amongst the bookshelves, gazing at the titles, discussing authors and their topics. Someone played the piano on the first floor beautifully. I picked up a book on existentialism, it seemed appropriate.
